These six vintage prints are from the 1974 "Wildlife Portrait Series No.3 'Song Birds.'" They are reproductions of original paintings by Bob Hines for the US Department of the Interior -- Fish and Wildlife Service. Hines was a friend and colleague of the pioneering environmentalist Rachel Carson, author of "Silent Spring," and even illustrated one of her later books about ocean life.
